Who would have thought when heading out for sunrise under thick, heavy cloud and light showers that it would clear and you’d get some nice light… like this?

Sometimes you just have to trust the weather predictions as Mark Smith NZ kept reassuring me of this morning.

This lone log pointing at Mokoia Island was a nice foreground element to include while using the built-in ‘focus stacking’ feature of my Nikon D850.
