Photos in 'High Dynamic Range'
To capture the large dynamic range of some scenes, it’s not possible to capture it all in a single photograph. So you must take multiple exposures ranging in shutter speeds to capture the detail in the lights and shadows. Often referred to exposure bracketing, three or more photos are taken in quick succession, one normally exposed, one (or more) under exposed and one (or more) over exposed.
Then in post production, you can use a few techniques to blend the best of each photo, to show of the range of light and darkness in your photo.
Two such techniques are called High Dynamic Range (HDR) and Dynamic Range Increase (DRI).
