Nautical Twilight Rings

During my recent visit to Motueka I headed out for sunrise to the local ‘hot spot’ Janie Seddon Shipwreck but there were no clouds in the sky so knew there’d be no chance of an amazing colourful sky.

I thought I’d try something a little bit different: horizontal blurring by rotating the camera during a long exposure.

The resulting image of the approaching dawnlight over the rocks and low tide foreground reminded me of some of the amazing photos of Saturn from NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration ‘Cassini’ Mission.
