Painting the Galaxy

Was a nice clear night out at Rangiuru Bay on Lake Tarawera, Rotorua, New Zealand last night with Mark Smith, albeit a little bit windy.

While we were down there shooting timelapses, another couple of photographers turned up; Tim from Vicarious NZ Photography (Taranaki) and his friend Brendan from Christchurch.

Was great to talk to other keen astro photographers and share stories while watching the core of the milky way rising up over the majestic Mt Tarawera.

Thanks to Tim for lending me his powerful LED torch, and to the two Canon shooters for pushing the button on my camera for me 🙂
